Not your average corporate job – this is a film to showcase a huge quarry off the west coast of Scotland, only accessible by boat. I was part of the ground-based crew and we also had a two-man drone crew, spending three days at the location. A further day was studio based for the rock carving scene.
Quarries are incredibly challenging environments to shoot it; dust, dirt, mud, blasting, the huge scale of the site, and not to mention the Scottish weather in March!
The results, I think, are superb. And yes, we did actually film ‘Hector’ the local, tame stag, after much chasing around the site.
It was shot on my Sony F5, with Canon zooms, and using some high frame rate filming. We shot sLog3, with a full grade.
